National Oil Company

Saudi Arabia's national oil company, (Saudi Aramco), is a fully integrated petroleum company with operations in exploration and production, refining and marketing, and petrochemical manufacturing. It ranks first among oil companies worldwide in terms of petroleum production and exports. Saudi Aramco has a large customer base, an extensive supplier network and a long history of successful business relationships with major international and national energy companies. Aramco is the largest oil corporation in the world with the largest proven crude oil reserves and production. Saudi Aramco also operates the world's largest single hydrocarbon network, Its yearly production of crude oil neared 3.4 billion barrels and it managed over 100 oil and gas fields in Saudi Arabia totaling at least 264 billion barrels of oil reserves and 253 quadrillion scf of gas reserves.

Among those fields owned by the company is the Ghawar Field the world's largest oil field; the Safaniya Field the world's largest offshore field; and the Shaybah Field. Aramco It is thought to be by far the world's most profitable company. Saudi Aramco’s Capital Program over next 5 years is estimated at USD 50 billion.

Petrochemical

Saudi Arabian Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) is a diversified manufacturing company, active in chemicals and intermediates, industrial polymers, fertilizers and metals. It is the largest public company in Saudi Arabia. SABIC is currently the second largest global ethylene glycol producer, and third largest polyethylene manufacturer, the fourth largest polyolefins & polypropylene manufacturer. SABIC is also the world’s largest producer of mono-ethylene glycol, MTBE, granular urea, polyphenylene and polyether imide. SABIC is the world's 4th largest petrochemical company, ranked 186th as world's largest corporation on the Fortune Global 500 for 2009, the second largest producer of ethylene glycol and methanol in the world, the third largest producer of polyethylene and overall the fourth largest producer of polypropylene and polyolefin.

SABIC is the world's largest producer of polymers and the Persian Gulf region's largest steel producer. SABIC revenues at $40.2 billion, profits at $5.8 billion and assets standing at $72.4 billion, and expansion operations and investments are projected to amount to USD70 billion until 2020; when SABIC alone will double current production to 100 million tpy.

Desalination

The Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) is a Saudi government corporation responsible for desalinating seawater, in order to augment the supply of potable water to coastal and inland cities in the Kingdom. SWCC is also the second largest electric power producer in the Kingdom. SWCC is in charge of operating the country’s 30 publicly-owned desalination plants and operating a network of pumping stations, reservoirs and 2,300 miles of pipes to transport the water in bulk from the plants to the major consumption centers. SWCC has gained tremendous achievements in field of seawater desalination, and supplying Saudi nationals and expatriates requirements of drinking water in the main cities through their plants, producing 2 million m3 of water daily, and about 4000 MW of electricity.

Power Generation

Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) was established through the merger of all Saudi electricity companies in the region. SEC is the largest electric entity in the region in terms of capacity, market capital and shareholder’s equity. SEC owns 85% generation, 100% transmission, distribution and retail. SEC total assets are estimated at over USD50 billion, and annual revenues of USD6 Billion with a 6% annual growth. The growth of electrical energy demand in Saudi Arabia will continue 6-7%. Power projects needs 80-90 billion US$ as capital investments for the next 10 years. There are opportunities in Consultation, Engineering and Services in Saudi’s power sector.

Private Companies

The National Industrialization Company (TASNEE) was established in 1405H, corresponding to 1985, as the first joint-stock industrial company fully owned by the private sector. Tasnee is the second largest industrial Saudi Company, and the second largest producer of titanium dioxide in the world. TASNEE erects, manages, operates and owns petrochemical , chemical , plastic, engineering, and metal projects and provides industrial services and markets its products through five major sectors : Petrochemical, Chemical, Metals, Plastics, & Packing Products .

Saudi International Petrochemical Company (Sipchem) is a Saudi Company listed in Saudi Stock market. That actively develops and invests in petrochemical and chemical industries, both basic and intermediate to produce chemicals used to manufacture a multitude of products that improve the lives of people worldwide. Sipchem currently produces over one million mtpa of methanol and 75 thousand mtpa of butanediol.

Gulf Farabi Petrochemical Company is manufacturer of 120,000 MT of Normal Paraffin and 70,000MT of Linear Alkyl Benzene with UOP technology DETAL Process. Gulf Farabi is a Saudi owned private sector Petrochemical Company established under the rules and regulations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
